When I started modernizing my Phoenix 8200 BML, I wanted to improve not just the technology, but also everyday comfort. One of the modifications that surprised me the most was replacing the shower head.

It might sound like a trivial thing.

In reality, though, it's precisely the shower head that decides whether you'll have a pleasant shower feeling all day, or just rinsing off under a weak stream of water.

Why is the shower head so important in a motorhome?

In a motorhome you're fighting against three things: a limited water supply, limited pump pressure, and limited wastewater tank capacity.

The ideal head therefore has to create a strong sense of pressure, consume little water, rinse quickly, and be lightweight.

And that's exactly where the Oxygenics heads came from.

How does Oxygenics work?

Unlike classic heads, it doesn't rely only on small openings. It uses a special Venturi effect — air is drawn into the water stream, creating fuller droplets, higher subjective pressure, a gentler stream, and lower water consumption.

That's why you get the feeling that the shower is flowing stronger than it actually is.

Oxygenics Fury

For me, Fury was the clear choice. Advantages: a very strong stream, several modes (5 settings including the Oxygenics mode), the best hair rinsing, ideal for motorhomes, and a more modern construction.

Fury feels more sporty. The stream is more concentrated and has more energy. That's exactly why most American RV owners recommend it today.

Oxygenics BodySpa

BodySpa was a legend for many long years. Advantages: a very pleasant massage, a softer stream, excellent for longer showers, and a simple construction.

It still has plenty of fans today. But if you compare both heads side by side, Fury feels more modern.

What do European brands use?

In Europe, the best shower head manufacturers are primarily Hansgrohe and Grohe. Both are excellent — they have quality chrome, long lifespan, and a very pleasant water spray pattern.

However, they were designed mainly for the home water supply with a pressure of 3–5 bar. Not for a motorhome.

Which one is best for a motorhome?

This is something we worked through together for quite a while. After comparing the experiences of RV owners and European users, I arrived at this ranking:

HlaviceKomfortPocit tlakuÚspora vodyRV použití
Oxygenics Fury⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Oxygenics BodySpa⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐☆⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Hansgrohe Pulsify⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐☆⭐⭐⭐⭐☆⭐⭐⭐⭐☆
Grohe Tempesta⭐⭐⭐⭐☆⭐⭐⭐⭐☆⭐⭐⭐⭐☆⭐⭐⭐⭐☆

What did I finally choose?

I installed the Oxygenics Fury in my Phoenix. The reason was simple. I have a Lilie IQflow pump with 12.3 l/min, a pressure of approximately 3.1 bar, and large tanks — but even so I want to save water during longer stays away from campsites.

Fury gives a very strong sense of stream while not wasting water unnecessarily.

What do the tests say?

There are several very well-made comparisons on YouTube. The best of them:

In all of them you can clearly see that Oxygenics doesn't create more water, but it does manage to significantly increase the sense of pressure.

Is it worth switching from Grohe or Hansgrohe?

If you have a bathroom at home — no. Hansgrohe and Grohe both belong among the very best.

But if you're building or modernizing a motorhome, the situation is different. There, today, I would choose:

🥇 Oxygenics Fury
🥈 Oxygenics BodySpa
🥉 Hansgrohe Pulsify

For me, it's precisely Fury that makes the best use of the limited pressure and limited water supply in a motorhome.

My experience

After several trips, I can say just one thing. Just like the new Marquart shock absorbers or the Stebel Nautilus horn, replacing the shower head was one of those modifications that aren't visible at first glance, but that you use every single day.

And it's exactly these kinds of modifications that make a motorhome a place where you truly feel at home.
